Recently we had our garage floor in the house coated in an epoxy coating, so that you could eat off it, if you had the desire.
This came with great effort, because we had to empty the entire contents of the double garage, which was considerable, and leave the cars outside for a week, while the worker bees did their thing.
The smell from the epoxy coating made our eyes glaze over, and all the onions in the kitchen automatically peeled themselves, but the end result is great.
After priming the concrete, a special undercoat was applied, in a colour appropriate to the top coat colour selected, and then boxs of small flakes (in our case, white with a hint of black) are then thrown across the wet surface until it is totally covered. The following day, the excess flakes are broomed off and separate coats of epoxy top coats are applied a day apart.
It makes a hard and clean attractive coating that is totally impervious to oil and water, so driving a wet car in leaves pools of water that doesn't soak in, so needing a quick mop. Fortunately this happens magically when my car is absent. ;-)
